Listeners of the Coffee Shop will know how much I admire writers and the work that they do. I’m not a writer myself, but I do understand that writing can be a rather isolating activity. It can be very difficult for writers to get out and meet other like-minded people. As such, I do what I can to help where I can.
Every year in November, writers from around the world pledge to dedicate the time to writing a novel, writing 50,000 words. When I was approached by my good friend, Judy L Mohr, a writer and freelance editor, I jumped at the chance to help out in anyway I could to make this November that much more special for the writers that embark on the NaNoWriMo journey.
As such, I’m proud to host a special NaNoWriMo chat room here on my site.
You don’t need any special account to login to the room. If you have any one of the following accounts, then you’re all good to go:
The rules of the chat room are simple:
- No profanity.
- Play nice.
- Have fun.
I should stress that this is a chat room and not a forum. People come and go. Messages will be whizzing by and don’t hang around forever. And this is an unofficial NaNoWriMo chat, but it is international.
The Municipal Liaisons from different regions around the world have come together to make this event as special as possible for those participating in this year’s NaNoWriMo. Currently, MLs from North Carolina, Australia and New Zealand are all taking part. The MLs will make themselves known when they login, so rest assured, there will always be someone around.
Scheduled VWrite-Ins are listed on the site, with calendars for different time zones.
Come on over and take a look at our chat room. Have fun 2016 NaNoWriMo participants. I hope you all succeed at your goals.
